A new National Pacific Tobacco Control Service, Tala Pasifika, was launched last week (20 Nov 2009) in Auckland. The Tala Pasifika Strategic Plan includes a goal to “ensure that best evidence on Pacific tobacco issues is available and presented to support policy and programme development.” One output planned for the 2009/2010 year is to “work with key stakeholders to identify research priorities” and agree upon a research agenda.
